Founder, BreathPharma

Hi, I’m Daartey, a PharmD-trained PhD candidate in Pharmaceutical Sciences, focused on childhood cancers that too often go undertreated and underfunded.

My work centers on neuroblastoma and medulloblastoma, two of the most aggressive pediatric cancers, each arising in a child’s developing nervous system. I study the molecular signals that drive these tumors: what makes them grow, what makes them resist treatment, and where we can intervene. That means investigating signaling pathways, essentially the communication networks cancer cells hijack, as well as epigenetic mechanisms that silently reshape how genes behave without changing the DNA itself.

I chose this field because children with these cancers deserve more than scaled-down adult treatments. They deserve therapies designed specifically for them. BreathPharma is my commitment to making the science behind that effort accessible, written rigorously, but for everyone.
